Gorakh-mundi is 1 to 3 ft, aromatic annual, spreading herb with purple flowers. It usually grows in rice fields, across India. Its whole plant is used for medicinal purpose. It contains an alkaloid – Sphaeranthine, eudesmanoids, flavonoids, and sesquiterpinoids.
